How to Find Balance in Your Life, When Your Life IS Off-Balance

I had planned for my next blog post to be about meditation, but I wanted to address what’s been on my mind and what I’ve been dealing with myself lately…






Burnout is a state of chronic stress that leads to mental and physical exhaustion.

Translation: you’ve taken on WAY more than you can handle, but you’re trying to get it all done anyway. You keep this up for days, weeks or months at a time, and eventually your body and mind just say, NOPE! 


I’m admittedly no stranger to this state of exhaustion. We hear this all the time, but: being an entrepreneur is hard, hard work! For me, having a full-time (relatively demanding) 9-5 job on top of it makes it even harder work. Most of my work for my business is done in the evenings during the week and on weekends. Even though the energy (and mental capacity, creativity and motivation) is gone, I usually just buckle down and just get sh*t done.


But lately, when I have the time to devote to my business I don’t have the mental energy or motivation. This is a big struggle and a big problem, because being a Health Coach and helping others get healthy is what I love to do!


On top of my 9-5 and my business, I’m also in the middle of Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Loft in Manhattan Beach and it goes through the first weekend in May. I am so, SO excited about becoming a yoga teacher and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a few years now. I’m loving this process and all that I’m learning, but it’s another thing that I have to devote lots of energy and time to.


I’ve been feeling major resistance to doing anything and everything that's even remotely productive! Even writing this blog post took me 3x longer than it normally would have - and it’s something that I WANT to share!
